Lew Hollander, Scientist

I was born a scientist. I have always sought rational answers to nature’s questions. My physics career has spanned the areas from atomic weapons testing, measurement and instrumentation, semiconductor research to micro circuit production. I was commissioned a Naval Officer in 1951 and stationed at the Naval Radiological Defense laboratory in San Francisco. This was my first real exposure to a scientific career. Since that time I found a nuclear radiation sensitive crystal, Cadmium Sulfide, CdS, and developed a method to grow these crystals. I did research in semiconductors, piezoresistivity, photoconductivity and related fields. I did considerable work on, Rutile, Titanium Dioxide, TiO2. I found an anistrophy of conduction in excess of
10,000 to 1. I have numerous, reviewed, scientific papers in the American Physical Society Journals such as Physical Review, J. of Applied Physics, The Review of Scientific Instruments, J. of the Acoustic Society, and many, many other technical Journals. Also this work resulted in 22 US Patents. I am listed in Marquis Who’s Who in Science and Engineering 2000-2001 and the Millennium Edition of Who’s Who in the World. I was a partner in Integrated Transducers Inc. Guaynabo,, Puerto Rico and President of Green mansions Inc., P.O. Box 100, Redmond, Oregon 97756.
